Ministries at Abbotts Creek

Ministries are activities carried out by Christians to express or spread their faith, the prototype being the Great Commission.... Some ministries are identified formally as such, and some are not; some ministries are directed towards members of the church and some towards non-members.

Below you will find basic descriptions for each area of service.

  • Baptist Men

The Baptist Men meet on the last Sunday of the month for a Men’s Breakfast. They are involved with community outreach through Men on Mission Disaster Relief, participating in community projects and providing relief during national disasters.

    • Children's Ministry

Our ministry focus is to nurture and guide children into a Bible-based heart knowledge of God's love and grace. Age-appropriate programming guided by our ministry focus is offered during all of our services. During Sunday morning services, children ages 3yrs-2nd grade are ibvited to attending Children's Church with worship music, Bible stories, and crafts. On Wednesday night, preschoolers and children are invited to be a part of Wave:FM (missions, music, and movement). The missions aspect utilizes GA (Girls in Action), RA (Royal Ambassadors), and Children in Action curriculum.

      • College and Career

This group is for college-aged and young adults.

        • Labor of Love

Every Wednesday during the school year, we fill and deliver over 100 backpacks to area schools so that children will have food to eat on the weekends. During the summer months, we take boxes of food to children at their homes. The 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, pre-packed boxes of food are distributed to families in the community.

          • Music Ministries

Music Ministries at Abbotts Creek are led by our Interim Minister of Music who leads the development and implementation of music that is focused on helping people experience true worship, strengthening the faith of believers, leading people to Christ, and glorifying God. Music encourages and challenges the church to take advantage of personal and corporate worship as an opportunity to intentionally meet God. Music can set an appropriate atmosphere for worship and encourages the active participation by those in attendance. Our adult Sanctuary Choir participates in our morning worship services and at other times during the year.

            • Student Ministry

Our student ministry at Abbotts Creek under the leadership of Pastor Josh Jacobs seeks to help young people grow in their love for God and love for neighbor. This is accomplished through a variety of avenues from weekly Bible study, service projects, and missions outreach. You can discover more about our student ministry by following us on Instagram, @creeksideministry and subscribing to our YouTube channel, Creekside Students at Abbotts Creek.

            • The WMU

Women's Missionary Union offers many mission opportunities for women. They provide support for other women throughout our community and abroad. There are several Prayer Circles that meet each month. WMU supports the Baptist State Convention and International Missions Board through the Annie Armstrong, Lottie Moon, Heck Jones, and State Missions offerings.

            • Young at Heart

Our Young at Heart group is for ages 55 and older. They are active in volunteering, engaging in opportunities to fellowship together, and monthly day trips and service to our homebound.

Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
